Heavier rain to follow latest spritzing in O.C.

The first of two Pacific low pressure systems moved through Orange County yesterday and early today, barely spritzing the landscape, and not even doing that in many areas. The National Weather Service had said the county would be lucky to get one-tenth of an inch of rain. But forecasters also say the second system will be far stronger when it gets here late Friday night.

“Preliminary rainfall totals should be about half to one inch in the coastal and valley areas, near two inches on the coastal mountain slopes and less than half an inch in the deserts,” says a weather service advisory. “Runoff will develop quickly and there could be local flooding of poorly drained low lying areas and small streams.
